Public Narrative I: Linked Narrative - Bringing Self, Us, and Now Together
Telling a Public Narrative that weaves Story of Self, Us, and Now together.
Description
In this fourth and culminating Public Narrative workshop, you'll practice weaving your Stories of Self, Us, and Now into a complete three-minute Public Narrative that connects heart (why we must act now), head (how we can act now), and hands (what exactly we must do now). You'll practice finding the common threads—the consistent values, themes, and images—that link why you are called to this mission, how you know your community is also called to this mission, and what the mission calls you to do together right now. Through writing and sharing your first draft of a Linked Narrative in a small group and receiving feedback from an experienced coach, you'll experiment with structuring your linked narrative, choosing how to incorporate your stories of Self, Us, and Now, depending on your audience and context. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have crafted your first full Public Narrative that you can continue to practice to strengthen your own leadership capacity and mobilize others to purposeful collective action.
